Central Board of Secondary Education abbreviated as CBSE was formed in November 3, 1962. CBSE is a board of education for private and public schools, under the government of India. Current headquarters of CBSE is at New Delhi, India with Vineet Joshi as the present chairman. Presently there are 8 regional offices for CBSE.

CBSE affiliates all private schools, all Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, all Kendriya Vidyalayas (KV) and other most of the schools approved by government of India.

CBSE exams from March 1 for Class X and Class XII. Class X datesheet and Class XII datesheet is released.

What does CBSE board do?

The board annually conducts exams for class 10 and 12 and the exam is called as All India Senior School Certificate Examination (AISSCE) which is generally conducted in the month of March every year. Along with CBSE also conducts AIEEE exam. AIEEE is for admission in undergraduate courses in many colleges across India. Students gets admission in Engineering and architecture courses through AIEEE. For admission in major medical colleges, it conducts All India Pre Medical Test (PMT).
